HOLLYWOOD TEASZE "Glamdolls In Toyland" 100/100
This CD will make screaming for a miracle all people like me who are in
abstinence of glam bands since the latest '80, and the surprise is that Hollywood
Teasze come from Germany, natives from the small town of Kempten. Delinquent Records
newslwttwr describe them as "the glamlords from Germany", and I assure that
isn't an axaggeration! The glam-rock power-pop oriented of has nothing to envys to the
most blazoned acts of across the ocean of the latest '80, and amongst the
main influences of the three rockers we find bands as: Pretty Boy Floyd, The
Zeros, The Trash Brats and sometimes also the great Rene Berg, for some vocal
melodies.
Glamdolls In Toyland is composed of 15 tracks for 46 minutes of totally sweeping
high adrenalinic amusement. Let's go with R'n'R Pretty Bad Boys, deadly hit that
can be a smash for every US band, a fast and straight track with a big melody
taste and a killer refrain. All Over You is literally snatched from Trash
Brat's "The Joke's On You", and also remarkable is Nasty Girl, an example of how to write
refranis that buzz in your head for an entire day after only one listening.
The thing that differentiates Hollywood Teasze from lots of actually bands is a
more than good mastery on their instruments, that permit ot the three german
musicians to write tracks various but always amusing and straight. At the
song no. 10 for just a moment we've the impression to be arrived at the "american dream
ballad", but this sensation continues for a few seconds, and You Won't See
Me Cry revealed itself as one of the most dynamic and catchy song of the entire CD.
But the real must of this debut album is L:A: Diddy, spatial!!! A super pop
'60 style like Beatles meet Banana Split with just a sprinkle of punk for to give a
bittersweet flavor to the song...
Hollywood Teasze result to revitalize classic glam-rock, the one that was
great in the mid-eighties in the L.A. scene, and is significant that the new Pretty
Boy Floyd don't come from US, but from the dear old Europe.
If you're lovers of a certain kind of sound, based on healthy amusement and a
"fun attitude" you won't be deceived from the world of peluches, cartoons
and sex of Hollywood Teasze...

The debut CD of these three upset knaves who seem to come out directly from
mid-eighties Los Angeles, leaves me breathless...
Chris (bs), Frank (vc/gt) e Harry (dr) exhibit a CD who is exactly half way from
"classic" Pretty Boy Floyd and the new glam outfits like The Zeros and Trash
Brats,but with an unique taste for melody and catchy refrains! After Introductins
we start great with Why Do Girls always, My Parents, I Don't Wanna Be Alone with an
unbridled energetic party-rock R'nR Pretty Bad Boys is a potential hit that
Poison
can not write even if the'll reharse for 100 years! Perfect by execution,
intensity,
melody and production (thanks to Delinquent's guyz), Glamdolls In Toyland is
a CD destinated to stay long in your CD-player.
Other of my fave tracks are Nasty Girl, with a killer refrain, Love Doll,
You Won't See Me Cry who starts like a ballad and then became one of the most dynamic and
amusing tracks of the CD. We got the dfinitive glam-anthem on a silver plate
with LA Diddy: deadly mix of pop/cartoon melodies and Ramone's (Rocket To Russia-
style) punk r'n'r. Attitude is more straight in your face of the other tracks but
always with the healthy fun-attitude who permeate all Hollywood Teasze works;
in the ending is Epilegue a slow track with some pop-sixties references.
Ther's just anothr thing you must know, Hollywood Teasze don't coma from USA
or England, they're from a small Germany town: Kempten. Beh? What are waiting
for??? Get this little degenerate-r'n'r masterpiece!!!
LEATHER BOYZ (Fanzine, Italy)
First full-length release for those lovely German glamour
punks, if you liked the early demo tapes you're gonna love this master piece: stabs of bubblegum and a punky
feel, here's what the Teasze boyz have in store for you. Together with old re-vamped fave as "All because of you", "Go sometimes" and "Lovedoll", there are brand new songs cool as
f++k:"4 my parents" is one of the catchiest tunesaround, proving that these guys have three chords and one
attitude; "You won't see me cry" has got nice harmonies and beautiful lost-girl
lyrics. "Attitude" is a slap in the face to all people who judge you simply by the way you look while "L.A.Diddy" will make your feet tap after 5
seconds.. "Epilogue" closes the cd a la Zeros: even our purple hero Sammy Serious would be proud of it...What can I add ?!? I'm behind them all the way and you guys out there must send ($13) for this cd as bubvlegum never tasted so good.

Punk attitude, pop
mayhem, humor and more than the occasional addictive melody is what Germany rockers Hollywood Teasze offer with their superb debut album "Glamdolls in Toyland". The
sugar.coated, poptastic slice of rock'n'roll is heavily influenced by the masters of the "three-cord-trick", the
Ramones.
Possibly the best thing about this album, apart from the fact that it plays host to fourteen well-written
songs, is that there are no nasal German accents ala "The Scorpions". This is great
stuff. frank E.Guitar, Chris Lakriz and Harry la Bum are teen idols int the
making.
"Why Do Girls Always", "4 My Parents" and " Don't Wanna Be Alone" kick things off in great style. Even the LA posers can't perform or write ditties like this
anymore.
"Lovedoll" and"L.A.Diddy" are two of the best, but thje chances are ot'll "Kiss My Ass Goodbye" or "Nasty Girl" that I can't get enough of next
week.
Europes best kept secret has just been discovered.

In Übersee haben die deutschen Glampunx ihr Debütalbum eingespielt, in welches das Beste aus
Glam, Punk, Rock'n'Roll und Powerpop eingeflossen ist. Schmissige Songs, quirlige Riffs, wohltemperierter Frauengesang bestimmen die Struktur der dreizehn musikalischen Elaborate. Hollywood Teasze sinde mit den Bates zur Schule gegangen, habe die Swoons als Freunde, schöpfen ihre Muse aus den seligen Penetration und tauschen ihre Anziehklamotten und Glamsequenzen mit Celebrity Skin. Endlich sind die Tage länger, die Nächte wärmer und ist die Musik fröhlicher.

STAY WILD (Fanzine,Germany)
Pull on your silver boots & get "glam" mad by this great German band. Ganz im Sinne der frühen Poison (ja ja, die war'n wirklich mal gut!), der New York
Dolls, der Hanoi Rocks, der Glam-Aera-Slade, der Trash Brats und der Motorcycle Boy kochen die Hollywood Teasze genau das richtige Süppchen für jede Jahreszeit bestehend aus melodic Pop-Punk, einprägsamen Heavy-Glam-Punk-Riffs und "dance-it-all-away"-LaLaLa-Hymnen. Selbst die Metal-angehauchte Gitarre stört nicht im Geringsten, sondern ist nur das nötige Salz im ohnehin schon wohlschmeckenden Abendmahl. Kaum zu glauben, daß diese geile Band "of Bavarian origin" ist. Hoffe, jeder halbwegs vernünftig und nüchtern gebliebene Charakter hat sie sich am 10.05. zusammen mit den Trash Brats angesehen, aber der hat dann wahrscheinlich eh' gleich die CD gekauft. Alle anderen zusammen im Chor:"We buy
it, stay punk, feel Glam & have a rockin'n'rollin' right out of controllin' night on the tiles of our
neighbourhood. Anspieltips:"Go sometime", "Attitude", "Kiss my ass goodbye" und "4 my parents". Scheiße, dat Ding macht süchtig, wo krieg ich nur die alten Demotapes her? Alles frei nach dem Motto: T.Rex war
superklasse, Slade war'n besser und es muß doch nicht immer nur Punk sein !

Wieder ne deutsche Band, die ein Label in den Staaten gefunden hat. Hier in Deutschland geht's aber über die o.g. Bezugsadresse. Wie der Name schon vermuten läßt, machen die Leute Sound, der zwischen
Glam, Poppunkund Rock'n'Roll seine Heimat findet. Erinnert an die Yeti Girls, nur noch 'ne Spur softer. Poppig und das Maul voller
Bubblegum. Wahrscheinlich werden sich Ralf Real Shock und Tom Tonk einen drauf runter holen. Ich find's ganz nett, aber auf die Dauer doch ein wenig eintönig. Musik für Mittdreißiger !

ROCK HARD (Magazine, Germany)
Deutschland's beste und wohl auch einzige Glampunk-Kapelle hat sich ihre Nische im Biz endgültig erkämpft. Nach zwei knackigen Gute-Laune-Demos und reichlich Presseresonanzen aus Australien, Japan, England und den USA düsten Frank E.
Guitar, Chris Lakriz und Harry la Bum in Richtung Alabama und schusterten dort ihre Debüt-Langrille "Glamdolls in Toyland" zusammen. Geboten wird wieder einmal astreiner Punkrockin bester
Ramones-Manier, garniert mit einer ungemein positiven Ausstrahlung und diesem ganz besonderen Sound, der irgendwie nach hautengen Jeans, ungewaschenen Haaren und einer gesunden Portion Unverschämtheit klingt (dabei fällt mir ein, daß die Kohle, die diese Punks auf der letzten Popkomm von mir geschnorrt haben, noch immer nicht bei mir eingetroffen ist,
grrr....). Obwohl Hollywood Teasze sich selbst überhaupt nicht ernst nehmen und mit den Haarlack-Combos des Glam-Zeitalters nicht viel gemein haben, dürfte ihnen in Deutschland die verdiente Anerkennung auch weiterhin versagt bleiben. Versteh'n halt keinen Spaß, die Germanen.

HEAVY ODER WAS !? (Magazine, Germany)
Ende 1991 formierten sich Hollywood Teasze in Kempten. Da sich in Germany niemand so recht mit dem Möchtegernpunk anfreunden konnte, hat sich ein amerikanisches Label erbarmt, das Trio unter Vertrag zu nehmen. Hätten Green Day diesen Stein nicht ins Rollen gebracht, würde sich auch heute noch kein Schwein für Siebziger-Punk interessieren, nicht mal die alles konsumierenden Amis.
'Clammdolls in Toyland' (Delinq./Point) kann mich absolut nicht überzeugen. Wenn es schon Punk sein muß, dann von den Sex
Pistols, denn die waren noch wirklich originell, was man von diesem Werk nicht behaupten kann.

VISIONS (Magazine, Germany)
Das Punkrevival an sich war eher überflüssig. Green Day's "Dookie" erwies sich dann allerdings als schlagendes Argument, sich die Neuauflage genüßlich reinzutun. Nun hat das Kemptener Trio Hollywood Teasze sein Debüt "Glamdolls in Toyland" in Alabama produziert. Vielleicht ist es schick, daß der Sound der Allgäuer Punks nach Jugendzimmer klingt. Der Mix ist jedenfalls tödlich über alle Instrumentarien verteilt, so daß nirgends ein treibender Motor zu orten ist und man rasch mit Müdigkeit zu kämpfen hat, was durch das phantasiefreie Songwriting noch beschleunigt wird. Ein Ohr den Texten geschenkt, macht's nicht besser: Es geht um Leidiges wie den großen Zoff mit den Eltern, etwa, daß Papa den "way I do my hair" nicht mag. In "R'n'R Pretty Bad Boys" bremst ein hölzernes, hundertmal bei AC/DC gehörtes Riff die Bewegung nach vorn aus. Im Chorus heißt es "U na na na Baby", und der Fingernagel saust fies die Saite runter wie anno dunnemals bei der Münchner Freiheit. Während man noch rätselt, woher Kempten das Selbstbewußtsein nimmt, das "Walk This Way"-Riff zu
verwusten, schallt es schon wieder schaurig "Ba ba ba uuuh" ins Ohr. Hm.

Let's have a
party: Diese CD macht Spaß.
"Sausages, Sausages", ruft ein amerikanischer Würstchenverkäufer, es folgt ein undefinierbares Stimmengewirr, Besteck fällt klirrend zu Boden ein Prayer verkündet eine frohe Botschaft, ein Glockenschlag beendet schließlich die O-Töne aus den USA - dort hat Hollywood Teasze seine erste CD Glamdolls in Toyland eingespielt - und nun sind die Kemptener Glampunx dran ...Punk von Paradiesvögeln
In dreizehn Songs - nein wir sind nicht abergläubisch - geben sich die drei Paradiesvögel mal mehr rockig, mal mehr
punkig. Und trotzdem ist es nicht der pure Punkrock, den Hollywood Teasze da präsentiert. Vor allem der Gesang gibt dem musikalischen Erstlingswerk eine eigene Note. Und die verheißt viel Spaß. Das Tempo, das die drei schon in ihrem ersten Song "Why do girls away" vorlegen, halten sie auf alle Fälle bis zum Schluß durch und gönnen ihren Hörern somit keinerlei Verschnaufpause. Daß die Musiker selbst jede Menge Spaß mit ihren Songs haben, merkt man dabei. Kein Zweifel also: Dieses Album ist ein Partyalbum.

LIVE IN (Germany)
Nach ich weiß nicht wie vielen Jahren Live Präsenz in Kempten und Umgebung und mehreren Demo-Veröffentlichungen, die sogar im "RockHard" mit Lob überschüttet worden sind, legen Hollywood Teasze jetzt ihre erste CD vor, die sie in den USA aufgenommen und produziert haben. Man könnte jetzt natürlich darüber schreiben, wie "R'n'R Pretty Bad Boys" oder "Kiss my ass goodbye" unter der Mithilfe von Arne Böhler in CD-Qualität umgesetzt worden sind, oder wie erfrischend neu "Nasty Girl" klingt. Man müßte dann natürlich auch erwähnen, daß die brandneuen Songs, wie "Why Do Girls Always" oder "4 my parents" zeigen, daß Hollywood Teasze die Ohrwürmer einfach nicht ausgehen. Aber wer Hollywood Teasze nicht kennt, kann mit diesen Aussagen sowieso nichts anfangen.
Andere Kritiker würden eher schreiben, daß Hollywood Teasze mit ihrer stilistischen Mixtur aus Ärzten,
Ramones, Brainpool, Terrorvision, Bates und Green Day eine witzige CD herausgebracht haben, die genau den Zeitgeist trifft. Aber wer
Brainpool, Terrorvision und die Bates nicht kennt, kann sich darunter sowieso nichts vorstellen.
Also will ich nur zwei Dinge zur "Glamdolls in Toyland" sagen:
1. Die 15 Titel haben eine mittlere Länge von 3:02 min. mit einer Standardabweichung von 60 Sekunden.
2. Ich würde mir am liebsten alle 15 Titel auf einmal anhören.
3rd GENERATON NATION (Fanzine, Germany)
Wie der Name des CD Titels es schon verrät, ist hier eine GlamPunkband am Werk. Und das die Band aus Deutschland kommt hat mich völlig überrascht. Ricky Rat von den Trash Brats schickte mir die Adresse der Bnad und so kam das ganze ins Rollen. Soll heißen, daß die Band auch in Duisburg spielt, wenn genug Geld vorab zusammenkommt. Die Band war mir bis dato völlig unbekannt. Und umso mehr wurde ich vom Sound umgehauen. Geht voll in die Trash Brats Richtung. Einfach nur Gute Laune Musik. Ich finde die Band absolute Klasse. Ihre CD haben sie ind den USA aufgenommenund auch da veröffentlicht. Für den Deutschen Markt wird sie bald hier erscheinen und ich kann Euch nur raten, das Teil sich zuzulegen.
TAKE IT (Fanzine, Germany)
Germany's one and only glam band released their first CD on the label that is owned by the "Slam Glam" band Little
Rebel. And I guess, that's a real good choice, because what other label could put out glam stuff and knows so much about it ? As you can
expect, this CD came out really well and shows you what kind of fun Hollywood Teasze can bring into your living
room. If you already liked their demo tape (see review in No. 5) then you'll love this CD. 15 tracks and no filler (!) with a cool cover, really nice and
funny. Thousands (!) of toys are lying on the ground and you wish to be part of it and play with all the
goodies... then just put the CD in and enjoy. Get it from Delinquent records.

 As you may have read in Vampirez # 1 Chris Lakriz told me then that their new demo-tape should be out by the beginning of the
year. And here it is: "The Wonder Years!!!" It contains six
tracks, all absolutely worth listening to. I was really impressed about the excellent sound quality of the
tape, because I knew, that they had done all the recording on their own with an 8-track homerecording
unit. What can I tell you?! This tape beats the shit right out of my speakers! These guys really know how to play cool bubblegum- glam on high
level! Songs like "Lovedoll", or "I Don´t Wanna Be Alone" remind me a little of Quenny Blast Pop, but they still sound typically teasze´n´roll
like. "We´ve Gotta Go Sometime" is a pretty cool and catchy uptempo
song. Vocalist Frank.E. did a great job on the guitar arrangements. Beside the r´n´r song "Rock´n´Roll Pretty Bad Boys", they put one of my favorite live tunes on
tape: "All Because Of You", which is a funny song that consists of more "ba ba ba uuhhh`s" than
words. Finally, they recorded a fine coverversion ofThe Shirellessong"Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow". If you already heared the original, you surely won`t have believed that someday a glam band would discover a real diamond beyond the surface of this lame old
song! Anyway it kicks ass! When you listen to their tape, you almost can`t believe that they come from the Bavarian
mountains, cuz it sounds so much L.A.!! Well, what else can I say?! Order your copy
now, you won´t regret it!!!!

When thinking of Glam, one would be forgiven for now automatically thinking of Germany! To say it's not the Glam capital of the world would be an
understatement. A place that would more likely spring to mind would be Hollywood. Well, we're halfway there - in name at least!
Introducing ...all the way from Germany, Hollywood Teasze. Surprisingly
enough, they are as good as most Hollywood glam bands. I have to admit, I didn't think they would
be. Think of Germany and you think of third-rate dodgy heavy metal bands. But no, maybe it's due to the fact that these guys have spent some time actually in Hollywood that they rock just as well as their
L.A. counterparts.Another shocking factor is that this band is a three- piece. Okay, it's nothing
new, we come across three-piece bands all the time, but I can't actually think of any good
(or bad!) three-piece glam bands, can you? The band comprises of Chris Lakritz on bass and
vox, Frank E. Guitar on guitar (never!) and vox and Harry la Bumm on drums.Seemingly to
me, this band plays an amalgam of 70's and 80's Glam Rock although remixed slightly to appeal to 90's
fans. It's very bubblegum, very poppy and there's lots of nice harmonies to mellowly hum along to. "The Wonder Years" (I loved that
T.V. prog!) is a positively cool collection of songs (there are six of them in total with titles such as "All because of you (Ba Ba Ba Uh)" and "Rock'n'Roll pretty bad boys" - sounds a bit clichéd, don't
they? - But they are good and must be heard before opinions are to be make. The band has a fun kind of attitude and outlook that a lot of today's bands are
lacking. Don't take them to seriously, 'else the joke'll be on you in the long
run. But get this tape, becauseHollywood Teasze are here to pleasze!

In einer Zeit, in der jeder nur noch der Meinung is, so böse wie nur irgen möglich wirken zu müssen, tut es richtig gut, einer Band wie Hollywood Teasze lauschen zu können, die auf Fröhlichkeit und Spaß setzt. Einfache Riffs und sing-along-Refrains sind das Markenzeichen der Allgäuer Jungs, die leider noch zu oft ihren Haupteinfluß, die Ramones, schlichtweg kopieren. Wie auch
immmer, glamrock ist zur Zeit Megaout und schon deshalb sollte man sich nicht davon abhalten lassen, die Jungs zu kontakten

Unbelievable! Everybody tries to talk shit about glamrock music and that the scene is dead and stuff
(which might be the case in the L.A. area, where grunge took over...) and we got 2 demos from German (!) glam acts (!!) for this
issue! The first one isHOLLYWOOD TEASZE from Kempten in southern Germany. They released a 6-track demo entitled "The Wonder Years", which is rather funny to listen to. Their style seems to be influenced a lot by the early 70´s bubblegum
glamrock, as you can't really find any similarities to the typical L.A. acts that used to pop-up between '86 and '90! Easy sing along
songs, simple structured, a little bit silly here and there, but they at least impressed me because of their
courage, to come up with something like this in the 90's! Times are tough for this type of music and Hollywood Teasze who have been together since '91
already, never really were able to break-out of their area and The Wonder Years is their first demo release in all those
years... So, if you consider yourself a glam-lunatikk , get in touch with these
guys. This is definitely not my flavour of the month, but underdogs need support.

Tyska glamtrion Hollywood Teasze fick inga vidare recensioner av mig för sin första demo "They might suck...but they suck real
hard!!!". Kul att de ända hör av sig igen.Och de HAR blivit bättre. Ljudkvalitén är högre och melidierna mer catchy. Pet pa Vampirez zine kalade det tuggummiglam vilket är en ganska bra benämming. Latarna är enkla och poppiga utan nagra större överraskingar. Men, HT är framför allt ett
showband. Musken är bara en del av deras uppenbarelse som även inkludrar rosa läppstift och neonfärgade
tights. Ungefär som den extremare varianten av 80-telets glamband.Tycker i alla fall att det är starkt av dem att göra sin egen grej och sta för det. Sadana band finns det alltför fa av
idag.

With song titles like "kiss my ass good bye", "nasty girl" and "don't turn your head" and with a name like "Hollywood Teasze" you could be forgiven for thinking that these three piece are the latest hotshots from either Los Angeles or indeed New York City, but fuck no, these guys are from none other than Germany!!!, A place not exactly that well known for it's bubblegum glam bands is
it? But these guys have got something quite cool going for them and I am sure that we will be hearing a lot more about them in the
future, the demo is still available but i have heard that the band intend recording a cd in the early part of 95 but if you wanna get hold of this cool three tracker then drop the band a line at: ...

Första gangen jag fick nys om tyska Hollywood Teasze befann jag mig i en skum transvestitaffär pa Kensington Market i London. Deras rosa flyer förde tankarna sa langtbort fran argsinta hardcorerappare och trendfixerade inneskribenter man bara kan komma. Jag har inget emot arbsinta hardcorerappare, men när de kommer i flock och alla later likandant blir man lite trött pa deras rädsla att avvika. Visserligen var den musik som Hollywood Teasze spelar - ren glam - stor pa 80-talent, men nu är de i alla fall hur ute som helst. Och ända fortsätter de. Kul, tycker jag. Tyvärr är deras musik inte riktig lika kul. Demon är snyggt paketerad och de tre bandmedlemmarna är noggranna med sin utstyrsel. Neonfärgerna hör till favoriterna. Men när man stoppar kassetten i bandspelaren möts man av daligt ljud - och pa ett ställe klickar det till, ungefär som när man trycker pa rec och pratar in nagot själv. Även om Hollywood Teasze inte utger sig för att vara nagra stjärnmusiker sa bör de slipa pa den musikaliska biten - om de nu ska komma till Hollywood och bli rockstjärnor - som de drömmer om.
